One-to-one mentoring for engineers

For developers and leads preparing for manager or architect roles, and for engineers who want to move into payments and banking technology. I have hired, mentored and interviewed engineers for over a decade, most recently as Manager, Software Architecture at Fiserv. Sessions are on video call, in English or Hindi.

What you can book

  • Mock interview

    60 minutes

A realistic interview for engineering manager roles, covering people management, delivery and technical judgement, followed by direct feedback on each answer.

  • Career call

    45 minutes

Talk through a decision: moving from developer to lead, changing domain into payments, or planning the next role after a layoff.

  • Resume and LinkedIn review

Written notes and a 30 minute call

Line-by-line comments on your resume and profile, then a short call to go through the changes.

  • System design interview

    60 minutes

Practise a design round for senior engineer or architect roles, with payment-flavoured problems if you want them: scale, failure handling, idempotency and trade-offs, then feedback.

  • Design review

Written notes and a 45 minute call

Send a design you are working on or proposing. I review it the way an architecture board would and we go through the questions it will face.

The fee for each session is confirmed by email before you book.

How it works

  1. Write to me

Say which session you want and share a little about your current role and what you are aiming for.

  2. We agree a time and fee

I reply with available slots and the fee. For a resume review, you send the documents in advance.

  3. We meet on a video call

You get my full attention for the session and a short written summary of the main points afterwards.

Common questions

Who is this for?

Developers, senior engineers and team leads with a few years of experience who are preparing for their first or next leadership role, and engineers from other domains who want to understand payments before an interview.

Can you help me move from developer to architect?

Yes. A career call is a good start: we look at the gap between your current work and what architect roles expect, and plan the experience and preparation that closes it. System design practice and design reviews then build the skills directly.

What should I prepare before a mock interview?

Send your resume and the job description you are targeting a day ahead. Come with two or three real situations from your work that you can talk about in detail.

What if I need to reschedule?

Tell me at least a day in advance and we will find another time.

Tell me what you are preparing for.

A short note about your current role and your goal is enough to start.
